Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire plot
After the events of 'Godzilla vs. Kong', the two titans have gone their separate ways in an amicable manner. However, the all-powerful and terrifying creatures must face a colossal, undiscovered threat hidden within the hollow earth: the Scar King. The ancient beast, capable of bending the energy from the hollow earth to its will, puts their lives and those of humanity to the test. As the mythical battle unfolds, more is discovered about the origins of Godzilla and Kong, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond.

Visual spectacle with a bad story.
Seen in a well-filled premiere room.
Almost 2 hours of visual spectacle with a lot of action.
But the cast was mediocre & the story very weak.
3.5 stars purely for the spectacle in this film.
Mind at zero & just an evening of pure monster action.
Whether it will do better at the box office than the previous one is still a big question.

Godzilla minus one is praised to the heavens because a good film was made with a relatively small budget. There was already skepticism about this sequel to Godzilla vs. Watched Kong because the trailer showed that typical CGI mumbo jumbo again. And admittedly, this movie is exactly that.
But if we're honest. Did we expect anything different after the last Warner Bros Godzilla and King Kong films? Adam Wingard understands what this series is currently. Bombastic blockbusters in which we see more than enough brawls between different titans. And we are not disappointed. The film has a high pace, has many action-packed moments and the human input is essential and does not take up too much time. I just love this. Nice no nonsense where you get exactly what you expect in advance and where you are entertained for 120 minutes. It's all stupid and clunky with a lot of exposition, but don't be surprised that you would expect anything different. You can see that it has a higher budget than the first film, because less focus is placed on human actions.
Fortunately, the cinematic effect that the film screen and projector create always makes it look believable. This is also a film that you must have seen on the big screen. On a 4K TV with HDR, I'm afraid it will hold up less, like so many films.
I can't imagine anyone going into the room with different expectations and being disappointed. Did you enjoy the previous films in this series? Then you will also like this film. Didn't you like the previous 4 films? Then stay far away from this movie. I will buy this on disc and rewatch it often.

The 5th movie of the MonsterVerse & also the cheapest (135 million).
Personally also the best film, where there are only big fights between the monsters.
