Bowery Battalion plot

"THEY'RE THE DAFFIEST DRAFTEES IN HISTORY!"

Slip and his friends, the 'Bowery Boys', join the army and make their way to their camp. Shortly after they sign up, their old friend and benefactor, Louie Dumbrowsky, turns up. Louie served as a corporal in World War I, but he walks into the camp wearing a real major's insignia. This comes as a surprise to the boys, until they discover that he alone holds the key to a so-called lethal hydrogen beam. However, foreign agents are targeting this invention. Through the efforts of their fellow spy, Marsha, Colonel Hatfield's private secretary, they kidnap Major Louie. The boys then do everything they can to save him.
