Behind Enemy Lines plot

"His only weapon is his will to survive."

The war in Bosnia and Herzegovina is almost over, but the US military remains in the region with an aircraft carrier. However, the pilots' missions are limited to monotonous reconnaissance flights. Fighter pilot Chris Burnett and his copilot Stackhouse are ordered to patrol the safe zone. Burnett can, however, persuade his colleague to deviate from their course and capture images of the strange troop movements on the ground. The two pilots are met with anti-aircraft guns and their plane is hit. They use their ejection seat in time, but Burnett soon finds himself alone: Stackhouse falls into the hands of the enemy forces.

Absolute shit movie. Owen Wilson just can't act, now I can barely look at that headline and take it seriously, and then that final scene. Totally unbelievable, and on investigation the film appears to be 'loosely' based on true events. Blegh...moderate exaggerated shit. I'm not easily very negative but when I hear that people think this is such a 'great' film, possibly one of the best they know .... najah ...

Showing three times in a month seems a bit much to me.

A not so special cat-and-mouse plot, but a special and well used setting and a pretty grim atmosphere. Owen Wilson is "cast against type" but does a great job, Gene Hackman is cast according to type and does a great job without any surprises. The biggest objection in my opinion is the amount of bullets that Wilson can dodge, which is not in line with the realistic approach of the film. Nevertheless, quite unusual and quite exciting (at least until the final in which the American cavalry appears to save the day ).
