Attack the Block plot
Trainee nurse Sam is walking alone through the dark streets of South London when she is ambushed by a gang of youths. However, she is rescued when something falls from the sky. A meteor crashes near a parked car and Sam manages to flee, just before the gang is attacked by a small alien that emerges from the wreckage. The gang chases and kills the creature, dragging the carcass to the highest point of the neighborhood, which they consider their territory. But the adventure is not over yet. The alien attacks are just the beginning…

OK.
I actually only watched this movie for Boyega. Here too, his achievements do not disappoint. The rest of the cast is mediocre, except for Sam, who still comes out reasonably well. Especially the street gangsters only come across as bridge beepers.
The monsters looked like teddy bears. Sweet soft fluffy bears or wolves with I think neon teeth or something nearby. They didn't even look that bad. But they were really just a little too cute for a movie like this one.
I think the makers as well as the actors have a lot of fun with it and there is plenty to experience. But it doesn't make much of an impression on me.

Great horror comedy, I like this one. Away from the rules of the big blockbusters with the teenage groups consisting of a couple in love, a shy main character and a blond guy who likes to show off. Just a group of youngsters in the slums of South London. A film with wonderful dialogues, some subtle winks and a large dose of self-relativity. But it also remains exciting. with enough momentum in the movie. Joe Cornish got some advice from young people about the weapons they would use against aliens and what sentences in the script. Well done.
