i thought for a moment that it wouldn't work out .. vague start .. couldn't follow it completely .. but later it became more and more clear how and what .. especially in the end .. an attentive viewer will expect something since he suffers from insomnia.

I thought the ending just added that bit that made it more special.

the whole story revolves around him being in jail for 19 years...and when he gets out makes time for his son..who is 19 and he wants to make up for the years he missed with him! that works out nicely.... with bouts.... his wife has passed away and recorded "the fall" for his friends at the time... but he wants revenge... more and more becomes clear as the film progresses... .

more than enough for this performance! don't expect any special FSX or something like that. but you have to have the story! and in my opinion it worked out well.

Frank Carver [Nicolas Cage] served 19 years by confessing to a crime actually committed by his then boss [Dave MacKinnon]. When he is found to be suffering from a deadly sleeping sickness, he is released early and has two goals: to use some of the money he received for his confession to reconnect with his son Joey [Noah Le Gros] and his gram from his former criminal "fellows" who have never been heard from again. This mix of melodrama and crime is too much of two minds and has failed on both fronts, failing to surpass the questionable level of most of Cage's film this decade.

A mediocre film starring Nicolas Cage. The actor plays the role of Frank Carver, and even took piano lessons. A striking detail is that Bailey Coppola plays the younger version of Frank Carver. Bailey Coppola is Nicolas Cage's cousin in real life. This explains the striking resemblance in the film. The film was initially scheduled to be shot in Vancouver in February 2018. Initially, the shooting locations were chosen in Cincinnati, Ohio, but eventually this was moved to Kelowna, British Columbia. The screenplay was written under the title "Old Man."

The biggest problem is that Nicolas Cage is regularly cast in the wrong movies. A clear example is the mediocre remake of The Wicker Man. This while he delivers a strong piece of acting in the right films. We have seen this in Face/Off. He should have passed this movie by.

2.0 *
