What kills this film are the too often boring scenes. This kind of trash is great when it continually misses the nail completely. 1990 certainly contains scenes that are memorable. I would mention the scene with the drummer, for example, a number of fight scenes that are so ridiculously poorly depicted with cringeworthy slow motions, the main character who spends half the film walking around like a cousin who has to poop, or 'gangs' that you only see in completely uncool musicals. It's things like this that make a movie like this worth watching. But as I said before, most of it is boring, which sometimes loses interest. Nothing really spectacular. Shame. Hopefully the sequel will appeal to me more.

I actually find it very entertaining. Although it is a bit of a combination of previous films (Escape From New York and the Warriors in particular), I think this kind of premise is very fun and offers plenty of room for entertainment. Optimal use was also made of the setting. Film has some excellent scenes, including some action scenes, although they were a bit sparse.

Furthermore, there are many things wrong with the film. Mediocre acting, ridiculous dialogue, some things that defy all laws of logic. Occasionally that is a bit disturbing, but mostly I thought, "What does it matter?" And so Castellari continues to entertain me immensely.

3.5 stars.

A reasonable film for fans.

1990: I Guerrieri del Bronx (1982) is a cross between The Warriors (1979) , Mad Max 2 (1981) and Escape from New York (1981)

The film was shot in 1981, but was not released until 1982.

Although the story is set in The Bronx, it is very clear that some scenes were shot in Brooklyn.

Such an event was also the reason for producer Fabrizio De Angelis to make this film.

In addition to Brooklyn, filming took place in Italy, among other places, and we see the WTC several times.

Mark Gregory made his debut with this film, and was only 17 years old at the time.

Director Enzo G. Castellari had difficulty finding the right lady to play the role of Anna.

Ultimately, his daughter Stefania Girolami Goodwin turned out to be the ideal person.

It was also the last film for Vic Morrow.

He died in a tragic accident during the filming of Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983).

A striking detail is that Ice's fall was not staged.

The drummers also turned out not to be in the script.

The band happened to be playing at the time, and were added by Castellari without any explanation.

Although this film was poorly received, a sequel was released in 1983 under the title: Fuga dal Bronx (1983)
