It seems Christopher Nolan is a loud and proud fan of the Fast and the Furious franchise.
There have been 10 movies produced in the franchise so far with the latest, Fast X, being released in 2023.
The series is a moneymaking behemoth for Universal as the movies have made a combined $7 billion at the box office so far. Critical reception to the movies has always been polarising as some believe it is brainless entertainment while some others appreciate the popcorn aspect of the storylines.
The action sequences have usually received acclaim.
Nolan, a noted auteur filmmaker, has shown he still has the desire for popcorn entertainment like the rest of us.
“I have no guilt about being a fan of the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise,” he said in a conversation with Stephen Colbert.
“A tremendous action franchise … You’ve never seen any of them? I watch those movies all the time. I love them. I’m amazed you’ve never seen one of them. It’s only the last few where a specific arc and mythology develop."
