Nieuwe Indiana Jones-film uitgesteld.

De fans zullen nog een tijdje langer moeten wachten op deel 4 van de populaire Indiana Jones-reeks. De nieuwe film zal pas vanaf 2006 in de Amerikaanse filmzalen te zien zijn.

Dat komt omdat producent George Lucas niet tevreden is met het scenario, en meer bepaald met het einde van dat scenario. Lucas wist recent nog Harrison Ford te overtuigen om de hoofdrol van deel 4 op zich te nemen, en ook Steven Spielberg tekende al voor de regie. Nu is Lucas dus teleurgesteld over de finale en wil hij meer actie en tempo in het verhaal.

Ford en Spielberg waren nochtans zeer te spreken over het verhaal dat scenarist Frank Darabont had bedacht. Hoe het ook zij, eens het scenario aangepast is, kan het filmen eindelijk beginnen. (HLN)

Selleck talks "Magnum P.I." Movie

Filmrot reports that on UK TV's "Entertainment Today", Tom Selleck was interviewed and asked about how the "Magnum P.I." movie was progressing and whether the talk was true about George Clooney taking over the role for the project.

Selleck stated, as fact, that Clooney will not be playing Magnum and that the only reason the rumour started was because USA Today ran a poll as to who should (Selleck actually came in first, Clooney second).

The guys then contacted the UK branch of Universal who explained that the script is actually finalised and they are looking at cast and directors "as we speak". They were asked if Clooney was being looked at for the role to which they responded "No Comment". When asked what are Tom Selleck's chances of being Magnum again? They responded "There is a TV reunion movie planned, I believe".

'Not The Twins Olsen' writes that "New Line has finally green lighted a script by yet another un known writer Adam Macqueen and has tapped Stephen Norrington who ironically was once attached to direct the original Freddy vs. Jason. Filming is set to start in September for a summer 2005 release much like Freddy vs. Jason. Casting should begin soon, and there is no word yet on where filming will be held."

The X-Files 2

Gillian Anderson recently spoke about the rumours of a movie sequel - "It does indeed appear that the XF movie will be underway in the next year but a lot has to happen between now and then and a lot can happen between now and then. But it looks promising. Chris does not want to reveal at this point who or what will be in it but I got the impression it's going to be one scary mother"

The Mighty Ducks 4

A friend of 'Kate' got chatting with former brat packer Emilio Estevez at a recent doo and landed a scoop "There's another "Mighty Ducks" in the works that he might be doing. This one teams him with Joshua Jackson, who starred in the first two or three films as a kid named Charlie. In this one, Charlie gets into trouble with the law himself and is forced to do community service. he opts to coach hockey team of course and that's when Emilio Estevez is called in to assist. He's also doing a film called "Bobby" which is about the killing of Robert Kennedy, and he wrote the movie too. And there's also a film about the L.A Riots that he is doing with Snoop Doggy Dogg".

Eminem gaat in "Golden Boy" de rol van bokser uit de Oekraïne spelen, las ik ergens

Cinescape reports that in a surprise move it seems that J.J. Abrams, the creator of ABC's hit spy series "Alias", might just be the new director of the third "Mission: Impossible" film.

Abrams replaces Joe Carnahan who left the project due ot creative differences earlier this week. Shooting is still scheduled to begin next month in Berlin.

On the one hand it's an unusual choice because this would be Abrams first turn as a director on a feature film (although he has helmed TV episodes before) and it's one hell of a tentpole pic to put on his shoulders.

Then again it's also a very wise choice. After all "Alias" is the closest thing to "Mission: Impossible" on the small screen there has been in the last decade. Abrams is very used to the worlds of multiple disguises, espionage, team members working together to expose covert government and criminal betrayals, and elborate action stunts. The fact that he's able to make each "Alias" episode for around $2 million (but look like it cost much more than that) is a big incentive for a very cost-conscious studio.

Band on the Run: "With an eye toward creating a modern-day Monkees, Michel Shane and Anthony Romano will produce teen comedy "Band on the Run." Pic should begin production early next year. Love Creeps: "After scoring an arthouse hit with United Artists comedy "Saved!," Single Cell Pictures are adapting the upcoming Amanda Filipacchi novel "Love Creeps." Brian Dannelly will direct and write the script with Michael Urban. Mad Monster Party: "Warner Bros. Pictures and Basil Iwanyk's Thunder Road Prods. will produce a live-action feature adaptation of the 1967 Rankin & Bass animated special "Mad Monster Party." John Pardee and Joey Murphy will write the script, in which Baron Von Frankenstein calls together all of cinema's classic monsters for a conference and announces that he's turning over their leadership to his clueless nephew..." Outfoxed: "Robert Greenwald's "Outfoxed -- Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism" will receive a domestic theatrical release Aug. 6 through Philippe Diaz's Cinema Libre, opening in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. Further expansion may follow. What makes the deal unusual is that the Disinformation Co. released the controversial documentary on DVD July 13. Since then, it has shot to the top of Amazon.com's DVD bestseller list, currently occupying the No. 2 slot..." (more info).

A History of Violence: "Ed Harris and William Hurt are in negotiations to join the cast of "A History of Violence" at New Line Cinema. David Cronenberg is directing, with Viggo Mortensen toplining. Harris will play the bad guy who comes looking for Mortensen, while Hurt will portray Mortensen's long-lost brother".

DeVito maakt 9/11 film

Danny DeVito gaat een op feiten gebaseerde film produceren waarin twee agenten worden gevolgd na de aanslag op de Twin Towers op 11 september 2001. De twee agenten gingen met vele andere hulpverleners de gebouwen in om mensen te redden, en overleefden het instorten van de gebouwen tenauwernood.

Het script zal geschreven worden door Andrea Berloff.

Ralph Fiennes is Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter-films.

De acteur Ralph Fiennes, de nazi-slechterik in "Schindlers List", zal Lord Voldemort spelen in de Harry Potter-films. Hij zal voor het eerst te zien zijn in de volgende verfilming, "Harry Potter and the Globet of Fire", die in november 2005 in de filmzalen wordt verwacht.

Voldemort is de leider van de aanhangers van de Zwarte Kunsten in de Harry Potter-verhalen en zo slecht dat de personages in de boeken zijn naam niet durven uitspreken.

Daniel Radcliffe speelt de rol van tovenaarsleerling Harry Potter in de boeken van J.K. Rowling en zal dus met Ralph Fiennes menig magisch duel moeten aangaan. Het derde boek, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkban" is momenteel in de filmzalen. Vanaf de verfilming van boek vier zal Ralph Fiennes dus gestalte geven aan Voldemort, die voor het eerst op het witte doek te zien zal zijn.

De Engelsman Mike Newell, bekend van "Four Weddings and a Funeral" zal de verfilming regisseren. Fiennes engageert zich voor drie films, want de volledige serie zal uit zeven boeken bestaan. Een boek voor elk schooljaar aan Zweinsteins Hogeschool voor Hekserij en Hocus-Pocus. J.K. Rowling is bezig aan het zesde boek, dat "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" zal heten. (LAN, belga)

10th June 2002: War Of The Worlds Update:

Director Timothy Hines, who announced that he would be bringing a version of HG Wells' War Of The Worlds to the screen, has commented on Tom Cruise and Paramount's plans to adapt the book in a different production. This from a press release from production company Pendragon Pictures.

"We approached Paramount with a version of WAR OF THE WORLDS nearly a year before September 11th. At that time we learned that Tom Cruise was interested in becoming involved in a WAR OF THE WORLDS project. Nothing came of it then as we were mostly focused on copyright issues with Paramount," stated Hines.

The principals of Pendragon Pictures are not allowed to comment on the complicated copyright issues of the WAR OF THE WORLDS property, but CHROME producer Susan Goforth confirmed, "Paramount has acknowledged in writing that Pendragon Pictures has certain rights to produce a version of WAR OF THE WORLDS. They certainly know everything about our WAR OF THE WORLDS project and how we were forced to push the project back due to the World Trade Center attack. News of our project has been published all over the world and in virtually every language."

Timothy Hines adds, "Tom Cruise has not approached me or my company concerning a version of WAR OF THE WORLDS, but I'm open to talking with him," stated Hines between takes of an action scene on an elaborate floating transport set at Pendragon Pictures studio in the Seattle area.

Hines went on to say, "I am now convinced that the only way to make WAR OF THE WORLDS is to be one hundred percent true to the book. In the light of current world events, Wells' vision is more timely than ever and it needs to be translated to the big screen intact. If that's the kind of production Tom Cruise is interested in doing, then we may have common ground to talk."

In any case, Timothy Hines and Pendragon Pictures are going forward with the production planning and script polishing of WAR OF THE WORLDS.

"We've endured too much and fought to hard not to follow through. We will make WAR OF THE WORLDS. But right now I've got another movie to shoot," Timothy Hines reflected as he moved into the center of the action on the CHROME set.

De film kan wel van de site denk ik. Het is allerminst zeker of deze film er nog zal komen. Bovenstaand bericht dateert alweer van 2002 en imdb vermeld de film niet in de database.
