Aditya (Akshay Kumar), a car engineer, is as passionate about cars as Shakespeare is about writing. Not only is he an engineer, he is also a test driver for the company. Aditya is engaged to Sonia (Bipasha Basu), a fashion designer who is creating her own line. Sonia is a modern woman who puts her career first, which obviously doesn't help their relationship. The date of their marriage is fixed and Aditya leaves for Canada for training. Meanwhile, Sonia leaves for Paris for a fashion show. In an elevator, Aditya meets the delightful Jia (Katrina Kaif). Jia is a lonely woman and daughter of a wealthy industrialist. In an effort to expand his business, her father arranges a marriage with dynamic business tycoon Karan Oberoi. Jia has come to Canada to shop for her wedding. She finds a friend in Aditya and their friendship grows.
