Strong movie. Yet another film based on true facts (don't mean this negatively).

Three children are found murdered. Three 'suspicious' teenagers are arrested and interrogated. They must appear in court. A popular jury will decide their fate.

It was as if they knew who to find. Private detective Ron Lax (a brilliant role) finds things so suspicious that he wants to investigate the case. He doesn't get much space... Searching for the truth is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I can't reveal the rest. Still say that Reese Witherspoon as the mother (Pam) of Stevie (one of the murdered children) delivers a beautiful and believable acting performance!

- I don't agree with area51 at all!

Reasonable film in which three teenagers are arrested for the satanic murder of three small children. A captivating true story based on the Memphis Three. As long as the movie focuses on this, this is a great movie. Unfortunately this is not the case and the director takes a little too much on his fork (like the somewhat misplaced scene in the classroom). Just not 3.5 stars.

For a deeper look, you better go to the three-part documentary series: Paradise lost.

Mme.

Fairly dry narration of a true case. This time they chose a crime I had never heard of. The person I watched the film with also immediately recommended some documentaries to watch. I just hope they feel a little less "clean" than this movie.

There is little wrong with the acting and the film starts early with the core of the film. The introduction is never too long, which I liked. Once they have explained the basics, a somewhat more difficult film comes out. Not only because of the complex character of the story, but also because of the directing style, which makes it difficult to make a mixture that works.

It's that the case itself is mysterious and quirky enough to keep you interested, but the director himself doesn't succeed enough to convey the ominous part of it as well. Sometimes we can suddenly find a short moment of thriller in between, bits that enliven the entire film. The chemistry and tone are missing in the rest of the images.

It all ends very happily and also leaves plenty of questions. The good thing is that the film seems to remain quite honest with the case without drawing all the conclusions so that you can take it seriously as a story. The way of telling is just not very interesting, which is a shame. In any case, it is recommended for lovers of the actual case.
