What an incredibly stupid selfish response here to such a horrible drama this girl has gone through. Really, you should be ashamed of yourselves!

The story of a girl who is kidnapped at the age of ten and locked up in a cellar for eight and a half years is absolutely terrible when you consider that it actually happened. That's already a movie. And that's how the maker must have thought of it, because it's hardly much more. The actual story is probably just acted out without much being added. And that is of course an interesting film because it is an interesting story, not because it is otherwise an interesting film. I also looked at an English version, which was also quite disturbing in an otherwise Austrian environment with Austrian people. But the original version is probably German after all. In any case, that makes a difference. But not on closer inspection. The lead actress is English-speaking and participates in more English-language films. So perhaps the original is English and not German, as is stated here.

As a result of Room and Girl in the Basement also watched this film. Where the latter film is based on the Fritzl case, 3096 Days is based on the Kampusch case. Room seems to be more of a film that loosely combines elements of both. As in Girl in the Basement and unlike Room, this one is more about life during captivity than life after the escape. And despite the fact that Room is only loosely based on the aforementioned things, the film stands out well above the other films, especially due to the much better acting and camera work. Of the three films, 3096 Days has by far the least camera work and acting. That's why this film gets the lowest rating out of the three. 1*.
