Identity Thief plot

"She's having the time of his life"

Diana (Melissa McCarthy) lives a luxurious life in the expensive suburbs of Miami. With an infinite balance in her account, she buys everything her heart desires. However, there is one problem: the account is not in her name. She commits identity theft on one "Sandy Bigelow Patterson," a simple accountant who lives on the other side of America. With only a week to go before his small business goes awry, the real Sandy Bigelow Patterson (Jason Bateman) must head south to confront the woman who is misusing his personal information and get his money back. Once he arrives, he finds out that trying to regain your own identity is harder than he expected.

Failed.

Worst of all was that Melissa McCarthy. Of course her character is also meant to be annoying but the scenes where she was supposed to be funny I think it was just sad. Such a fat person who tries just a little too much to compensate for being fat. Made quite like a cash-in. Comedies like this have been made in Hollywood for ages. Two people who have to go somewhere against all odds. Unfortunately, this one was just made with too little love, so it can just go in the trash.

1.5 stars.

This one was on TV so I gave it a try. I didn't think it was a bad movie. I had to laugh a few times, but towards the end the tone became a bit more serious.

The cast wasn't bad either and the film looked good.

I thought it was worth watching and didn't get bored with it.

“I just want to be upfront and say I visually enjoy you.”

Mediocre. The biggest sin that Indentity Thief commits is that there is remarkably little to laugh about. In the second part it almost becomes a drama about McCarthy's youth issues. Bateman is always solid in these roles, but McCarthy is really annoying here. Painfully unfunny. The supporting actors take it all very seriously, but that could also be due to the script. The sentimental ending is ridiculous (wife steals all your money, but you're going to be nice friends with her).
