The Motel Life plot

"They will do anything to find the truth"

Brothers Frank and Jerry Lee Flannigan abruptly close their Reno motel after Jerry Lee in a drunken stupor kills a boy on a bicycle and drives on. The two are very unlucky. Their mother died when they were 14 and 16, their father is an ex-con, they both dropped out of high school and Frank has had only one girlfriend, neighbor Annie, whose mother is an abusive prostitute. After the accident, Jerry Lee becomes suicidal, despite the efforts of his younger brother who tries to help him.
