CBGB plot
"50,000 bands and 1 disgusting bathroom."
The film follows the story of Hilly Kristal's New York club that started out as a Country, Bluegrass and Blues (CBGB) venue and eventually grew into the birthplace of underground rock 'n roll and punk. When Kristal struggles to book bands for the club, he opens the doors to other rock music. The only requirement was that it had to be original music, not top 40 or covers. Hilly Kristal eventually becomes the godfather of punk who gave bands such as Blondie, Television, Ramones, Talking Heads, Dead Boys and The Police a chance.
