Bella Brown is a young eccentric who dreams of writing and illustrating a successful children's book. Bella was abandoned as a child and despite her obsessive-compulsive disorder, her terrible boss and her crippling fear of flora and fauna, Bella won't hang her head and fight back. When her landlord offers her the choice of tending the neglected yard or being evicted, she meets Alfie Stephenson. He is a grumpy, rich old man, her nemesis, match and mentor, as well as her neighbor.

The film is said to be about a young woman with a compulsive neurosis. Other than a few scenes in the beginning, I didn't notice much of that unless I missed something. The film mainly deals with gardening and uninteresting characters. Not even Tom Wilkinson can save the furniture.
