Toll of the Desert plot
Tom Collins is rescued by Teague's band of outlaws when his covered wagon is attacked by Native Americans. However, Tom's wife Mary is killed. Tom thinks his young son Bill has also been killed, but Joe Carson finds Bill and raises him further. Tom, now the leader of the outlaw gang, appears just as Bill is celebrating his 21st birthday and kills Joe Carson. Bill joins the posse, who is hunting Tom's gang, but is captured by them. Tom wants Bill killed by one of his men.
