The Other plot

"Niles and Holland are as close as twin brothers can be. Appearances can be deceiving... and deadly."

1935, Connecticut. Twins Niles and Holland lost their father to an accident in the barn behind their large house in the countryside. Their mother has been heartbroken ever since and their Russian grandmother especially keeps an eye on Niles, who is the sweet-natured of the twins. Niles is concerned about Holland's rebellious behavior, but they still hang out a lot.

I'd had The Other for a while, I think because I saw it mentioned in a previous challenge. Anyway, this film about the twins Niles and Holland, around whom more and more strange accidents occur, with Holland developing increasingly morbid tendencies, may be a bit slow and not very explicit, but it's still a very atmospheric film that I never got bored of for a moment. Also some nice elements like mentally possessing an animal (there's probably a word for that) and the Russian grandmother. The twist isn't very surprising, but it's nicely executed. Great film!
