Tom Sawyer plot
Tom Sawyer is a boy with a strong imagination and a penchant for mischief. He lives with his aunt Polly and his half-brother Sid in the fictitious town of St. Petersburg. He is good friends with Huckleberry 'Huck' Finn, the son of the local drunk. Tom falls in love with a new girl in town, Becky Thatcher. When Tom and Huck go to the cemetery one night in hopes of finding a cure for warts, they witness the murder of Dr. Robinson by 'Injun Joe'. Tom and Huck swear never to tell anyone for fear that Joe will hurt them too. However, Injun Joe has changed the tracks in such a way that the good-hearted Muff Potter is accused of the murder. This only adds to Tom's guilt.
