Tom of Finland plot
"They called it filth. It became a revolution."
Touko Laaksonen, an acclaimed officer, returns home after a harrowing and heroic experience in the military during World War II. Life in Finland during peacetime, however, turns out to be equally harrowing. He fills his days chasing gay men in Helsinki. Eventually he takes refuge in his liberating art, and specializes in homoerotic drawings of muscular men, without inhibitions. His work - made famous by his signature 'Tom of Finland' - becomes the symbol of a generation of men and fuels the flames of a gay revolution.
