The film tells about the hard life of farm workers in Thessalia, Greece at the beginning of the twentieth century. A few landlords keep control of the area and the lives of the people. Odysseas Hormovas, son of a landlord, stands in the gap for the workers and tries to improve their living conditions. His older brother doesn't like his brother's ideas and that leads to a conflict between the two.
