All Stars 2: Old Stars plot

"All Stars 2 Old Stars II"

In All Stars 2: Old Stars, the unexpected marriage of one of the boys leads them to treat themselves to an 'old-fashioned training camp' in the form of a long weekend in Barcelona. The Barcelona - Real Madrid football match is the highlight of this trip. But with the Swift Boys, of course, nothing goes according to plan. They are forced to hurry with Harry's Garden Center van over the German and French roads to make sure they arrive in Barcelona on time. Gradually, the boys wonder if they have become who they wanted to be. Whether they live the life they once envisioned. And whether the 'second half' has already started...

At times the film is quite fun and anyway it looks away quite easily. The All Stars characters together are entertaining enough in that regard. But gosh what a useless script. Not only because a lot of things don't make sense or simply don't make sense, but also because it hardly connects with the first film or the series. Much humor was also very flat. Some things were painfully unpleasant, while surprisingly, a very witty scene follows. Such a scene as with those French boys (“let's kick those gassies rotten”, and then of course be played around) is worth gold as far as I'm concerned. And so there are quite a few more moments in it. That saves the film somewhat. 2.5 stars.
PS; Had hoped that somehow there was a Johan Cruijf reference and there it was!

I really had fun with this.

Very dry humor, I like it.

Better than all standard Dutch comedies.

Tribute to Kamerling even gave me goosebumps.

After the rather nice first part, this one is a bit of a mistake.

The biggest problem with this movie is the script. Just the beginning, how is it possible that you can't think of anything other than a character who died in the first part, that he or she has to reintroduce the main characters in this film.

Furthermore, it seems to me that this group of friends has grown by playing soccer together every weekend. The love for football has been completely lost in this film because it is always added as the least important side issue when there was nothing else to think of. For the rest it is an accumulation of bad humour, cringe-inducing scenes and the worst imaginable tribute to Antonie Kamerling.

Seriously insufficient.
