"It's not just a man's world anymore."
As a child Tommy Boy was actually more into tinkering with cars than playing with dolls. As a teenager, she easily finds work as a mechanic in a garage, outdoing all male colleagues. Cars and motor oil appeal to Tommy more than boys and perfume, until racing champion Randy Starr steps in. In her own, inexperienced and somewhat clumsy way she manages to win the love of the star. But that doesn't mean his respect. One morning, Tommy's driving skills are discovered. A race organizer challenges Tommy and Randy to compete against each other against a multi-million dollar sponsorship deal.

A weak feminist vehicle about a woman who is a brilliant car mechanic and, of course, has to beat all the men.
That is why she must also excel at motorcycle racing, and when she meets the famous race car driver Randy Star, it is naturally inevitable that she also has racing talent and beats him in a head-to-head duel. Why? Because she is a woman, of course.
Admittedly, it isn't portrayed as annoyingly exaggerated as Rey in The Last Jedi, but it isn't far off and there's even a bit of humor in it, so you could argue that you shouldn't take it too seriously.
This way of putting women on a pedestal has gradually grown into a religion where the rules are crystal clear: men must always lose, and no filmmaker dares to break this rule.
The race itself is otherwise very poorly filmed in terms of choreography, but you already knew in advance who would win.
The film has its fun moments now and then, but the message ruins a lot.
