Travolta is too obviously Clinton-based. The way of talking, moving, etc.: it is imaginable that Travolta, like some Paul Groot, turned on the video, observed the mannerisms and tried to adopt them. But where Groot succeeds instantly, it took Travolta a while to convince me. He eventually did. The couple Bill and Hillary (here John and Susan I think) are an intriguing couple and are also kept intriguing by Travolta and Thompson (and the writers), which I think is clever, because their motivations are a mystery to me.

Lester enjoys playing the all-observing collaborator and Tierney always has a good grasp of cynicism. Bates also plays a beautiful role.

And yet this film lacks something. It's not really working. It also keeps something TV cinematic. Nice to see, but not really worth repeating.

Gosh, this is a movie I don't really have a bad word to say about, because it turned out better than expected. I was a bit afraid that it would be a boring film, but fortunately it turned out very well, because I even had to laugh a few times. It's interesting to see how things go during such a primary.

This is probably the first movie in which Billy Bob Thornton plays such a serious role. John Travolta certainly didn't do a bad job as "Clinton", which the character is clearly based on.

Despite the positive criticism, it's not really a film that I want to see again immediately. Good for once.
