Robert remains a creepy doll, but there is (still) less done with it than in the first film. In terms of camera work, it may seem a little less amateurish, but it completely lacks atmosphere, partly because it is much too light all the time. Once Robert gets into action, it's more funny than scary.

Forced love story crammed in this time makes no sense. The actors are not the best, but not abominable for a low budget either. Scares are not really there and the kills are largely off screen. In short, if horror fails badly, it is still somewhat funny.

The Robert the doll song is still fun and provides a bit of atmosphere. The last scene with Amos Blackwood the toymaker also has something. Quickly forgotten.

After reading the bad reviews online I almost didn't dare to start this one. My expectations were therefore quite low, but after seeing this movie I thought it was quite good. I was entertained from start to finish. The love story in this also makes this horror a lot more fun I thought.
