Ein Mann auf Abwegen plot

Swedish industrialist Percy Petterson has disappeared without a trace after a mysterious conversation. An accident or a crime is suspected. Journalist Nielsen accuses him of being on the run from an impending sentence for perjury hanging over his head. Petterson's daughter wants to prove his innocence and sets out in search of him all over Europe. But the journalist is also on his trail. For Petterson, the whims and intimidations of his shareholder, plus his ever-fun-seeking daughter, were too much. In Balago, a town in the Balkans, he bumps into Emily, with whom he does nothing but enjoy life. When his daughter and the journalist find him there, he appears as a waiter at a holiday resort. But with that, his 'journey' has only just begun...
