Wang Xincheng works in a marine aquarium in Qingdao, taking care of his 22-year-old son Dafu alone, thanks in part to the wonderful help of his neighbors. Dafu is autistic: he behaves absent-mindedly, constantly repeats other people's words, swims with the amazing ease of a water rat, and keeps everything neat and in the same place at home. It still hasn't dawned on him that his mother died a few years ago. Then a form of terminal cancer is discovered in Wang Xincheng and he has to make arrangements for his son's life after his death.
