"THERE WAS ONLY ONE WAY TO CLEAR HIS NAME!"
Former outlaw Jim "Trigger" Martin, falsely accused of a bank robbery, is hiding in a small town under an assumed name. Martin is injured in the saloon in a brawl with the local problem drinker and is then nursed by Molly Morgan, who works at the post office. The shopkeeper Zeke is impressed by Martin's performance and convinces him to become sheriff. Chuck, a former comrade of Martin, recognizes him and he wants to blackmail him. Martin manages to prevent Chuck from robbing the post office with his band of bandits. Martin also has to prevent his youngest brother Ed from going down the criminal path.
