Takers plot

"Who's Taking Who?"

'Takers' is about a group of bank robbers who strike one blow after another and keep getting away with the loot. It seems that the men can't be caught until they plan to make their "very last" blow. Detective Jack Wells (Matt Dillon) will do everything in his power to put them all under lock and key once and for all.

Nice action film, which unfortunately cannot exceed the average. Worth the effort for once.

Just a bad movie.

It takes guts to make a film about ingenious robberies, while 'Ocean's Eleven' and to a lesser extent 'the Italian Job' are hard to beat.

But the makers have made it very easy, there is no question of any creativity and the cast is just a mixed bag.

The camera work is also completely misplaced. Especially the use of slow motion is irritating, especially when such a retarded Asian tune is added.

Every now and then there is a chase, but that this is really not recommended seems clear to me.

1.5*

In 2004, a group of bank robbers steals a fortune. Jesse Attica [Chris Brown] is admittedly arrested, but keeps his mouth shut, so when he has served his sentence, he naturally seeks direct contact with his companions. Jesse demands that they pay off their honorary debt by committing another bank robbery with him, but Jesse's bitter attitude leaves the men questioning Jesse's reliability. Plus, Detective Jack Welles [Matt Dillon] is quick to smell danger. Messy edited, weakly written and noisy heist film mainly relies on the remarkably strong cast and a few spectacular, but nonsensical stunts. Food for the genre aficionados who prefer to switch off their brains while watching.
