Modern Love plot
Eric Mericourt (Pierre François Martin-Laval) is a filmmaker who often suffers from severe mood swings and struggles to maintain long-term relationships. Lately, however, things have been going well for him. His latest movie, a musical called 'Modern Love', is doing great and he is in a relationship with the beautiful and caring Anne (Melanie Bernier). But he is still haunted by his broken romance with Marie (Clotilde Courau), who left him on New Year's Day three years earlier. One day Eric runs into Marie again, who apologizes for breaking up their relationship. Then it turns out that she can't have a child with her current husband and she asks Eric if he wants to help her with this. In the meantime, Elsa (Berenice Bejo) wants nothing more than to be happy in love and settle down with the right man. However, she has no luck with this until she meets Jerome (Stephane Debac). He is handsome, nice and has no money worries. However, she can't move him into a serious relationship and begins to doubt whether he is attracted to women at all.
