Artist Daisy Kenyon has an affair with married lawyer Dan O'Mara (Dana Andrews), and she hopes to marry him one day if he ever divorces his wife Lucille. She meets returning veteran Peter, a decent man. She doesn't love Peter but she does offer him her love. She has an affair with him and marries... the moment Dan divorces his wife.
