Lisbeth Corbin is a modern woman from Boston who thinks marriage is something old-fashioned. She has two men in her life: Steve, who wants to marry her, and Alan Harlow, who wants her to travel with him. Despite all the warnings from her friends and family, Lisbeth goes with Alan to Mexico, where she is happy. Until she finds out that he has a wife in Paris and that he is leaving for his next project without taking her with him. The disappointed Lisbeth spends a few more years in Europe, filling her time with a busy nightlife. Her riotous life leads to gossip and doesn't make her very happy either.
