Elegiya iz Rossii plot

Ethereal poem about memory and the omnipresence of death, in which Sokurov takes the death scene of a sick man as the starting point for a series of associative images about the elusive no man's land between waking and sleeping. The dying man, a sleeping woman and a dozing baby are interspersed with photos of pre-revolutionary Russia and archive footage of soldiers on patrol during the First World War.
