Sometimes They Come Back... Again plot

"True evil never dies."

Time seems to stand still for Jon Porter, who returns to his old hometown of Grover Corner with his daughter Michelle. A mysterious priest tells him how much Debbie resembles Jon's sister Lisa, who died horribly years ago after dating the attractive but life-threatening Tony. Then Michelle appears to be wearing an amulet that Tony wore years ago and she introduces Jon to her new boyfriend. Jon then comes face to face with demons from his past and the horrifying events of yesteryear seem to be repeating themselves.

A very good thriller/horror film that I enjoyed watching again.

Exciting and some really cool scenes, like Tony turning on the jukebox and walking into the snack bar, the scene where one of his mates turns into a monster while the girl, with her eyes closed, expects something much more fun , etc.

It took me a bit of getting used to seeing Michael Gross in a very different role than I was used to seeing him in, namely the very funny dad Steven from Family Ties, but he plays his role very well here, just like all the other actors.

A film definitely worth seeing and getting the creeps from.

4.5 stars

A mediocre sequel to entertaining source material, in which director Adam Grossman attempts to flesh out the legend a bit further. Unfortunately, that isn't exactly the most interesting aspect of this world, which in the previous chapter actually benefited more from the mystery. Moreover, it removes a significant amount of potential tension and intrigue, something that didn't come across effectively anyway due to Alexis Arquette's somewhat goofy appearance. His almost cartoonish acting removes virtually all threat from his antagonistic presence, something that the fairly bald co-stars in the form of Michael Gross and Hilary Swank offer little to mitigate. Visually, everything fortunately looks charming, despite a number of mediocre computer effects. The story is somewhat stronger, but that wasn't exactly the catch of the first installment. A mediocre sequel, then, even though the standard wasn't impossibly high.
