Footsteps in the Night plot
In Los Angeles, Henry Johnson is wanted by Detective Andy Doyle for the murder of his neighbor and friend Fred Horner, whose body was found tied up in Johnson's motel room. Lieutenant Doyle finds out that Johnson is a good gambler and known for being violent. Doyle manages to track down Johnson through his fiancée Mary Raikin. Johnson is arrested, but insists he didn't kill Horner.
