The Last Supper plot

"Love... Sex... Life... Death. In this house it's all on the table."

5 college students live in a house in Iowa and ridicule a conservative TV host. When one day they get a visit from conservative Marine Zack, he stays for dinner. However, dinner spirals out of control when the guest continues to make racist remarks and ends up being stabbed in the back. The students think that the world would probably be better off without this creep, and get the idea of getting rid of even more bad people every Sunday over dinner.

I continue to like him. The film continues to fascinate, but with a length of 87 min this is not that difficult

An original story with (when I first saw it) a surprising ending.

Certainly much nicer than expected this.

I can often appreciate black comedies, if performed well and The Last Supper can certainly count itself in this category. A discussion with a guest gets out of hand and before you know it, a new habit is born among the five residents and the mansion. The acting is not bad and especially the dialogues are well written. I was always curious what would happen if another guest was invited.

The twist with Perlman, is great. Secretly I was hoping for something like this and that it actually happened was really nice. The camera work and the soundtrack are not really special, by the way. But the nice story, the funny dialogues and the other often cynical humor is more than enough for about an hour and a half of entertainment. Great length of time too.

3.5*

Mme.

Immediately grabbed the last film from Title. A tragic turn in her life meant the end for this director. She has also directed some well-known films, including this one. When I was presented with the film, I decided to watch it right away.

I actually didn't think it was a very special film, but recognize that the underlying message is very strong. The concept of people sitting down and talking about controversial topics like "job application" to stay alive is interesting. It immediately gives the film space to talk about things like "freedom of speech" and "disagreement", two topics that are still important today.

Unfortunately, Title doesn't support the film outside of the messages. The cottage is nicely decorated, but otherwise everything is very cheesy portrayed. The film sometimes feels like a thriller, but these images never manage to get exciting and from the situations at the table I had hoped that they were a bit more intense, just like a real debate actually.

The acting isn't exactly the best either, and only Vance could convince me. Diaz was again tinkering quite a bit, but I also didn't like the other members at the table. Perhaps the best performance came from someone who only plays in the first quarter, Paxton. Has the most charm in that limited time.

For the underlying message, the film is worth it, and it is well fleshed out. You won't get there with just a deeper layer. You can't do a single element very well and neglect the others, and I think you did with this film. It just lacks the support, but the central point is captivating and the ending is satisfying.
