"The first was for himself. The second for his country. This time it's to save his friend."
John Rambo now lives in a monastery. One day, his former Colonel Trautman and the US ambassador visit him with an offer to accept a mission. John refuses, and Trautman decides to leave for Afghanistan alone. However, his mission goes awry; he is captured by the Russians and tortured in a heavily guarded fortress. When John is briefed, he decides to leave for Afghanistan and to rescue his colonel. He gets help from Afghan rebels.

The least part of the Rambo series. It wasn't so much because of Stallone, who once again put in a great performance, but because of the things around it.
I liked the location much less than the previous parts. The jungle was great terrain for Rambo to lay his infamous ambushes, where most of the movie was just dumb popped.
The characters around it were also a lot less. Crenna likes better when he doesn't have to take action and that boy was a very low point.
The villains were also dramatic. That Russian accent, terrible. Speaking of overacting...
Then give me the sheriff from the first part or the dodgy Murdock from the second.

Today I reviewed it again, a little less than the 2nd part, I think the jungle is a bit more beautiful and atmospheric, but this one in Afghanistan is certainly worth it, another kind of Rambo in the desert.
Nice scenes in the village and nice location with the prison and good villains
