A tad unbalanced in that he tries to combine sharp satire and family drama, but in this form neither of the two really comes out well. Nevertheless, Eddy Terstall remains a promising director, who puts a clear stamp on his films and thus proves that Dutch cinema can be quite fresh and vital. The biggest attraction is therefore to see what the filmmaker has accomplished in terms of locations and cameos.

Very nice satire by Eddy Terstall about Dutch politics. No comedian can compete with that.

Nice screenplay and good acting. Especially Nico (Ton Kas) comes across as lifelike. The whole procession of TV personalities that passes by makes it almost a reality film.

The story of the film seems to me to be very time-bound for that reason because a number of characters are now clearly recognizable. I wonder if that will still be the case in ten years or so.

Nevertheless a wonderful film, almost as good as Terstall's Simon.

Relatively superficial political comedy-drama that doesn't really want to indicate how stupid populism (and its constituents) is. Enveloped by the impressionable politician.

In itself an interesting body of thought and it is nice to get a look at a fictional political landscape, with TV appearances in Pauw and DWDD, among other things. Enough funny dialogues and moments, especially thanks to the Amsterdam family. But the common thread is quite thin, including romance, bad marriage and generation-splitting affair. Content just too shallow, humorous only at times. Good for an occasional laugh, but it turns out to be nothing more than a nice snack. The presence of Elders and Gasman compensate a lot for the male viewer.
