Reasonable film about a young doctor who feels responsible for the death of an unknown girl. The documentary-like way of filming is unmistakably from the Dardenne brothers. However, it doesn't work well in this story, mainly because it makes the characters a bit unbelievable. Nevertheless, the story in itself is fascinating enough (also because of the environment in which it takes place) and Adèle Haenel knows how to keep the attention well (she is almost continuously in the picture).

My 8th Dardenne in the meantime and I can only confirm for the time being that I also thought this was one of their weakest productions. Anyway, I'm not super excited about their films, all in the same line from solid to good (usually a 3.5*), but no outliers (with the exception of Rosetta) or a feeling of having seen a masterpiece.

I found the plot quite monotonous and patchy with all those house calls. Also, it was hard for me to empathize with Dr. Gavin's character. A film with little spice, little tension, little enthusiasm too. Regardless of the fact that Adèle Haenel is quite a fine actress, I thought she seemed listless here, as if she was worn out and did her job with little enthusiasm. I had already looked for another doctor. Too bad, because the movie did have potential. It can't always be price.

It's all so gray and boned again what the Dardenne Brothers serve us. Would love it if they would make a film in the Ardennes about a cheerful family that goes canoeing for a day or something. You can do that there too, and you have a number of nice campsites and cute villages, in short, the Ardennes is not just sadness in damp cellars. But anyway, the story is quite interesting, although I did think that Adele Haenel could have put a little more spice in her role as a young GP.
