Man in the Moon plot
William Blood is an unsuccessful test subject for a scientific team investigating the common cold. When he is fired, he finds a job at the nearby National Atomic Research Center. Those in charge there think that someone who can't even pass as a test subject is exactly what they need and they tell him he can work as a test subject again. what they don't tell him, however, is that he does so during a flight to the moon.
