I can't help but find this annoying, although the last installment of the original Planet of The Apes series has gotten a bit sad. A lot is explained and the plot is also contrived, but the battle between the humans and the apes rages on and meanwhile something is brewing between the gorillas and the chimpanzees. Every now and then it's quite hilarious which dialogues are pulled out of the closet, but anyway it's entertaining enough to think it's really bad.

Too bad. Just when you think the old Planet of the Apes series is on the right track, you are confronted with this part. Like the previous writer, the film can do little wrong, at least if it doesn't take the comedic route. That actually doesn't happen, but this is certainly not the grand finale that I secretly hoped for. We are still in the run-up to the true planet of the apes (the first part). It feels like an in-between episode. The game between the humans, chimpanzees and gorillas is nice and there is a fine battle in it. A lot of attention has been paid to the decors and so there are more pluses than minuses. This series only had a much more spectacular ending.

Review ! Unfortunately no increase...

Ultimately, this last part is simply the weakest part of the entire franchise. The film still looks away smoothly and has plenty of fun moments, but as a closing, too little content and adventure given the previous parts. I liked the ending and it has a philosophical tinge to it. 6/10
