Bartley Greer is hired by the wealthy Mr. Severn to keep an eye on his daughter Prudence, a bohemian. Bartley moves in with Prudence and the two become good friends. When she finds out that Bartley has been hired by her father, she shows him the way to the door and gets engaged to a certain Rolf. Bartley becomes jealous and wants to end this marriage.
