Porky's plot
"Keep an eye out for the funniest movie about growing up ever made!"
Porky's is set sometime in the fifties. Angel Beach High students have only one question in life: how do I lose my virginity. They can peek all they want and talk about it all the time, in the end it won't happen. Their attempts to break into redneck Porky's strip club and mount his Cuban prostitutes end in disaster.

What American Pie is to the 90s, Porky is pretty much to the 80s.
I have seen the film several times and although it is all terribly wrong and many things are not right, the film still has a certain charm. Of course it's all very vulgar and it's really all about having sex with the women, because Porky's isn't much more than that. Not much happens in the first part, but in the second half the film gets pretty wild. Especially Mrs. Ballbricker and the annoying Porky are funny at times.
If I hadn't seen the film before, the film would now get a heavier fail, but because of the youth sentiment I can't get a score of lower than two and a half stars.

Disappointing film about a couple of teenagers who are only too happy to score with the ladies. Extremely thin storylines that never really captivate, and since there are few successful jokes in this vulgar sex comedy, only 2.0 stars.

This was a very pleasant review on Arrow's new blu-ray. Porky's knows fun characters and manages to keep the smile it quickly creates for the entire movie. Nowhere does the film become saccharine or moralistic, but it just sticks to lewdness and horny teenagers, as it should be.
