I've always liked this movie better than part 1 for the following reasons:

- Mr Miyagi stares more centrally here, it's about his conflict with his old friend Sato, he's much more interesting than Daniel

- Okinawa exudes the Eastern atmosphere that suits karate, also a nice exotic place

- Kumiko was a childhood crush of mine at the time

Reasonable film in which Daniel and Mr. Miyagi travel to Okinawa because Miyagi's father is dying. The story of Miyagi is less fascinating and the romance as a whole could have been scaled back a bit. Beautiful locations and the interaction between Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita as student and teacher is again good. A small 3.0 stars.

The Karate Kid 2 a film that is fine on its own, but is of course a household name for people who grew up in the 80s without a doubt. I think the series is very good and especially the first two parts I really have nothing to add. The third part in the Macchio and Morita series is a bit lacking compared to the first two, but still a wonderful film. It's all juicy and over the top but that's what makes it so delicious.
