Extensive documentary with different interpretations from a number of British and American historians. David Markham and Tim Blanning are my favorites. Which cannot be said of Jeremy Black who even takes it into his head to compare Napoleon with Hitler. Things get even more drunk when he suggests that Napoleon was specifically hostile and cruel to non-Europeans, referring to the response to the Haitian Revolution and the Jaffa 'massacre'. It's nice how Blanning then dismisses the slaughter of the Turks from his study as merely an act of compassion.
