Poor Little Peppina plot
After Peppina's father helps arrest a mobster, the Italian mafia retaliates by kidnapping his daughter. While her parents think she is dead, Peppina is taken to the Italian countryside and raised there by a friendly couple. Years later, when she is forced to marry a rich old man, Peppina flees to the United States dressed as a boy.
