Secretly I really liked this movie.. I'm just afraid I don't have to watch it again because then the fun might be over..
Furthermore, of course, that George Carlin is in it.

In preparation for Face the Music started again with a review of this (and the next) film. I think it was on VHS the last time I saw it.
Of course it is not a quality film and the film has 0 depth. That's not the point.
There's a lot of fun, Keanu's face makes me smile all through the movie, and some of the quotes are immortal.
Effects have not withstood the test of time (unlike, for example, Back to the Future, which is really 5 years older).
The whole piece with Napoleon in the present, which many people are enthusiastic about, I think is way too long.
All in all, an hour and a half with a big smile on my face (no doubt out of nostalgia) and still had to laugh a few times. So for me just a big pass for this film, and looking forward to part 2 and 3.

Heard a lot about it, never seen it. So when I heard there was a third movie coming, I started looking into the duo Bill and Ted. Most likely this is even more fun when you grow up with those two, but this Excellent Adventure is still an entertaining adventure. Despite the fact that the spotlights are constantly on the two main characters, the supporting roles are the most fun. The moment that Socrates and Billy the Kid started throwing a ball fairly early in the film, I already thought that the arrival of all those characters would lead to some fun moments. And that's right, the film is at its strongest when all those types of history run loose. Freud walking around, for example; very funny. Other than that, the film may look like a dumb stoner comedy, but when it comes to time travel, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure is remarkably smart and creative.
3.5 stars.
