Fanny Hawthorn and Mary Hollins, two factory workers and best friends, go on holiday to Blackpool. Here Fanny meets Allan Jeffcote, the son of the director of the factory where Fanny and Mary work. Fanny leaves Mary to spend the rest of the vacation with Allan. Upon return, Fanny's parents find out that she has been spending the holiday with Allan. Fanny's father confronts Nathaniel Jeffcote, Allan's father, about this happening. The rich director obliges his son to propose to Fanny.
