Hester a woman of high hopes travels to the New World. Beautiful, determined and independent as she is, she immediately clashes with the laws of the Puritan society. Upon hearing of her husband's death, Hester admits to her love for the local Reverend Arthur. When she becomes pregnant, the community accuses her of heresy. She is forced to wear an outrageous red letter A on her clothes, which stands for adultery. Then her presumed dead husband reappears... He is out for revenge...
