Messy teen comedy about a record store where everyone just does a little dork. I don't think it's about anything, unless I missed something. Too bad.

The soundtrack is by far the best part of the film.

Funny.

Not a film that the average viewer will probably dwell on for a long time, but nevertheless I thought it was a nice, sometimes even funny film. I actually liked it in many ways, but of course it is not very ambitious in terms of content and feels as if it is mainly meant for easy entertainment.

And there is nothing wrong with that, but the film nevertheless regularly misses the mark when it comes to humor. A main stumbling block is that the actors are not always capable of delivering the lines, which makes some comic situations feel especially uncomfortable. Tunney in particular just does not fit in this role. Tyler on the other hand fits very well in this film.

Furthermore, it is quite striking how many famous names are here, before they really became big. This way you can see a bit why some people became famous and why others did not. I only get the idea that some people had their looks to their advantage, with a clear reference to a now famous scene between Tyler and Caulfield.

It is harmless entertainment with a lot of quite funny situations and a pleasant pace. What the film can especially draw to its advantage is the location itself, which is nicely decorated and regularly provides some light-hearted scenarios. Here and there the film is sometimes aimless, but in the end it is just having some fun with some comic scenarios, and that succeeds quite well.

Good film about a number of employees who work in a record store. An entertaining film that is clearly a product of its time and the period is therefore well portrayed. A bit fragmentary in design, but the film is easy to watch. A number of nice dialogues and a nice soundtrack. A small 3.5 stars.
