Me and You and Everyone We Know plot
Christine Jesperson is a lonely performance artist who earns extra money as a taxi driver for older people. She uses her artistic visions to bring closer to the things and people she longs for. Richard Swersey (John Hawkes), a recently divorced shoe salesman trying to raise his two sons, quietly hopes great things will happen. But when Christine makes overtures, he panics. Meanwhile, Richard's seven-year-old son Robby has a spicy internet relationship with an unknown woman, and his fourteen-year-old brother Peter allows himself to be used as a guinea pig by two oversexed teenage girls.

Just found it a lot more enjoyable than the two Solondz movies I saw. July has more compassion for her characters and doesn't use them as a stick to hit with. This film has a sensitive structure and there is no construction towards a painful situation. The individual storylines are actually all quite strong and so is the whole. Perhaps not earth-shattering, but the playing time and sincerity are certainly ahead. Very pleasant.

Nice movie with a great cast. The story itself is not very special, but there is still something magical about it, the atmosphere is pleasant and the music is dreamy. There are also a few hilarious scenes, especially the one with the little guy made me laugh a lot. A small but nice feel-good movie.

Charming film with nice scenes and dialogues, but which in the end goes nowhere and goes out like a candle; a kind of Love Actually (2003) - MovieMeter.nl but where that last film works towards climaxes, this film is deliberately undramatic. It shows how people – you and me – are clumsily searching for some love and meaning in their lives and sometimes seem to get close to it, only to go wrong. The unsatisfactory of the movie is the unsatisfactory of life itself and I don't know if that makes the movie good or bad.
